SGN will start a major pipework renewal project in Bridge Road on 12th October. It is planned for Bridge Road to be closed for two weeks (originally planned for three weeks). During the closure period, bus services 45 and 400 will not serve Colinton, and will be diverted via Craiglockhart Avenue and Lanark Road.

From there, the works will continue along Colinton Road to just beyond Merchiston Castle School gates, taking up to mid-December. Temporary traffic lights will be used to control traffic around the works. For a period, this will also include the closure of Westgarth Avenue. During the closure of Westgarth Avenue, bus services 10 (from Bonaly only), 16 and N16 will be diverted via Thorburn Road.

The next phase of the works is Redford Road from Colinton Road to Dreghorn Link which is scheduled to last from early January to May 2020. This will involve periods of closure of Redford Road from Colinton Road to Old Farm Place, then Old Farm Place to Redford Drive, and the use of temporary traffic lights.

Lothian Buses have put the first of their planned route diversions on their website at Lothian Buses - Roadworks & Diversions. There will be no adjustments to bus timetables for these works, however it is acknowledged that buses on diversion may be subject to minor delays due to the increase in traffic.

Parking restrictions will also be in place on these and other adjoining roads during these works. SGN's information presentation can be seen on Colinton Community Council's website at SGN presentation on CCC website
